Kristin “Kris” Lanelle Berkouwer, 43, of Rigby, passed away at her home Monday, August 25, 2008.
She was born August 1, 1965 in Moses Lake, WA, to Terry Thatcher and Carol Stanger Thatcher, and was adopted and raised by John and Louise Price. She attended schools in Salt Lake City, UT, and graduated from Alta High School. She continued her education at the L.D.S. Business College. On March 1, 1996, she married Bastiaan Berkouwer in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a successful mission in the Birmingham Alabama Mission.
Kris enjoyed life, people and cows and fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past 1 ½ years.
She is survived by her husband, Bas Berkouwer of Rigby, and her parents, John and Louise Price of Salt Lake City, UT.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Rigby 3rd Ward Chapel, 364 N. 4100 E., with Bishop Cal McComber, conducting. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, both at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com
 
Donna Branson, 93 of Iona, died at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Sunday, August 24, 2008.
She was born November 21, 1914 in Salina, Utah, to James Albert Brown and Emma Josephine Casto Brown. She attended schools in the Wilford area and graduated from Rigby High School. On October 28, 1936 she married Robert Emerson Branson in Wilford, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized April 27, 1961 in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, Relief Society and as a Visiting Teacher.
Donna loved the outdoors, hunting, riding horses and best of all, fishing.
She is survived by two daughters; Sharry Charlene (William) West, of Boise, Karen (Gene) Rockwood of Idaho Falls, a son; Robert Merril Branson of Idaho Falls, fourteen grandchildren, and thirty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, two brothers, a great-granddaughter, Jode Ann, and a daughter-in-law, JoAnn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008, at the Denning Building, 5169 Denning, Iona, with Bishop Albert Davidson, conducting. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Th ursday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Church.

Jeffrey Bradford Berky, 44, passed away in San Jose, California on August 8, 2008.
 
He was born on May 23, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John A. Berky and Patricia Black Berky. He graduated from Wissahickon High School in Ambler, PA and attended UVSC in Orem, UT. He worked as a plumber in Provo, UT and later moved to San Jose, CA where he owned and operated his plumbing business.   He married Cathleen Collett in the Oakland Temple. They were later divorced. Jeff attended and graduated from the DeAnza College School of Nursing. He was employed as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Barbara Aaron’s Pavilion at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center at the time of his death. Jeff was friendly and outgoing; he especially loved helping people and will sorely missed by his family and dear friends in San Jose.
 
He is survived by his father and stepmother, John and Colleen of Rigby, sisters, Kimberly (Perry) Christensen of Springville, UT; Brenda (Joe) Baker of Oxford, MA, and brother, Gregory (Patti) Berky of Bellfonte, PA. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Stephen.
 
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Rigby 4th Ward Church, 401 W. 1st South, with Bishop Richard Sterzer, conducting. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Theodore “Ted” Eugene Blosch, 86, of Rigby, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at EIRMC.
He was born March 3, 1922, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Henry Herman Blosch and Lois Maude Cross Blosch. He attended schools in Bristow, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with General George Patton. Ted farmed and ranched in Ririe and Driggs.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ted enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by a brother, John O. (Dea) Blosch, of Yuma, AZ and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 25, 2008 at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery with Bishop Alan Myler, conducting. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Afton Donna Gunderson, 80, of Menan, died at her daughter’s home in Rigby, Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
 
She was born December 29, 1927, in Lorenzo, to Henry Drake and Roxey Alice Andrew Drake. She attended schools in Lorenzo and graduated from Midway High School. . On July 29, 1946, she married Joseph Marvin Gunderson in Menan.
 
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society. Afton was a dedicated wife who loved taking care of her grandchildren, fishing, hunting, camping and crocheting. 
 
She is survived by four daughters; Donna Jean Tanner of Shelley, Mary Alice Christensen of Tustin, CA, Roxie Jo (Kevin) Ashbocker of Lewisville, Nina (Jed) Hodges of Rigby, three sons; Dean Marvin (Jeannette) Gunderson of Ririe, Ronald Joseph (Marsha) Gunderson of Menan, Robert Alton Gunderson of Idaho Falls, three sisters, two brothers, thirty-four grandchildren, and forty-eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, two brothers, and a daughter, Lela Rosetta Glunz.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2008 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m., prior to services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com
 
 
Andres "Andy" Lopez Jr. 80, died August 13, 2008 at his home in Teton
following a lingering illness with cancer.

Mr. Lopez was born Jan. 9, 1928 at El Refugio Ranch, Texas the son of
Andres Lopez and Antonia Magana. He grew up in Weslaco Texas where he
attended his schooling.

He married Guadalupe Rodriguez on July 8, 1955 at Cloves, New Mexico
for the past 43 years they have made their home in Idaho. He was a member
of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Guadalupe of Teton City, Children - Andrea
Weatherston, and Emma Villarreal both of Texas, Andy Lopez Jr. Idaho
Falls, ID.; Albert Lopez, Teton City, ID.; Amalia Nevarez, Rexburg, ID.;
Frank Lopez, New Mexico , Roy Lopez, St. Anthony, ID.; Henry Lopez, Idaho
Falls, ID.; Antonia Villa, Rexburg, ID.; and Willey Lopez, Texas, He is
also survived by 14 Brothers and Sisters, 38 Grandchildren, 44 Great
Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.
in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in St. Anthony with Father Jose
Gonzales, Celebrant. Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Friday
evening for a Rosary Vidgial from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and again Saturday from
12:30 until 1:15 prior to going to the Church for services. Burial will
be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
 
Gail Dean Schmardebeck 72, died Aug. 11, 2008 in the Rexburg nursing
home following complications of a congestive heart failure.

Gail was born May 7, 1936 at Jewel City, Kansas the son of William
Christ Schmardebeck and Erma Jack Schmardebeck. He grew up in the St.
Anthony, and Sugar City area. He joined the LDS Church at the age of 17.
He graduated from the University of Montana Western at Dillon, Mt. he also
attended Westminster College and the University of Utah both in Salt Lake
City.

He married Gwen Jensen on Sept. 2, 1959 in Salt Lake City. They lived
in the Salt Lake City area and were later divorced. He married Rosalie
Happy Roylance on Jan. 12, 1996 at Lava Hot Springs, ID. They lived in
Layton, Ut. and the St. Anthony areas but lived in many different places
where ever his work took him.

Gail was a geologist and worked at the U.S. Lark mine in Bingham, UT.
He also owned his own cement and concrete contracting business for over 20
years. He was a member of the Mineral, Rock & Cement Inc. and a member
of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle in Salt Lake City and Ogden. He
enjoyed mining, golfing, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife Rose of Egin, Idaho, Children- Gaylene
(Keith) Bauer, and Gregory Schmardebeck both of Salt Lake City, and Genette
Hughes and Geneale Harrington both of Centerville, UT. Step Children -
Paula (Curtis) Savage, Kearney, MO.; Lisa (Paul) Auger, Tremonton, UT.; Erin
Peck, Ogden, UT.; Sean Austin, Salt Lake City, UT.; Cameron (Mike) Benson,
Brigham City, UT.; Corbet (Lorene) Austin, No. Ogden, Ut.; and Carson
Roylance (Jamie Jones) Layton, UT. 5 Grandchildren, 3 1/2 Great
Grandchildren 17 Step Grandchildren 7 1/2 Great Step Grandchildren. a
brother Lyle Schmardebeck, Egin Bench, ID.; and a sister Elma Holmes,
Dubois, ID.; Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a step son
Travis Austin.

Services will be conducted Saturday Aug. 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in
the Egin Bench LDS Church with Bp. Brandon Moon, officiating. Friends may
call at the Egin Church Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and again at the
church Saturday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial
will be in the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of the Bidwell Funeral
Home.
 
William “Bill” Wright Robinson, 87, of Idaho Falls, died August, 13 2008, in Salem, Utah.
He was born September 18, 1920, in Thayne, Wyoming to William Robinson and Velta Ruth Wright Robinson. He attended schools in Star Valley, Wyoming and graduated from Star Valley High School. During WWII Bill served with the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre, and achieved the rank of Seaman 1st Class. On January 12, 1947, he married Julia Dillman in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple, they were later divorced.
Bill was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served two full time missions: one in the California Mission and the other; a Church Service Mission at the Church Employment Center in Denver Colorado. He also served in the Seventies Quorum, President of the Y.M.I.A and in the Idaho Falls Temple. He worked as a Construction Superintendent for Comtrol in SLC, Utah for 17 years.
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors.
He is survived by a daughter, Daloris (Larry) Dow of Clawson, UT, two sons; Dr. Paul William (Lynda) Robinson of Salem, UT, Kit Dillman Robinson of Parker, CO, two sisters; Gwen (Ralph) Heiner of Bedford, WY, Ruth Ann (Conrad) Haugh, of Gillette, WY, twenty-two grandchildren and seventy-eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Myrna Mooseman and La Dawn Velta Hules, and a sister, Okla Lifferth.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Idaho Falls, 7th Ward Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at the Church. Burial will be in the Afton Cemetery, Afton Wyoming, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, with Military Rites by The Afton VFW Post 47-97.
